The name of Calon Segur is rooted deep in the history of Bordeaux. The domain is indeed located on an old town, which at the time Gallo-Roman period, was called ""Calones. The town in which the château is set was long called St. Estephe de Calon. In the eighteenth century, the Marquis de Segur, Speaker of the Parliament of Bordeaux, will add his name to that of Calon.
Also owner of Mouton, Lafite and Latour, his preference went to the estate he received on the occasion of his marriage.
