White pendant Fior di Loto by Afra and Tobia Scarpa for Flos, 1960s

Price On Request

_Fior di Loto_ pendant designed by Tobia and Afra Scarpa for Italian Lighting manufacturer Flos in 1963.

In a Flos catalogue we found this description: "Pendant lamp, giving filtered light, in polished or nickel-plated brass, or in enameled metal."

This is the white enameled version which consists of two parts that are joined together by chromed brass fittings to provide an enclosure for the bulb. The lamp provides primarily indirect lighting through punched perforations on both sides of its body. The socket hangs from a white coil wire that conceals a thin metal rope for height adjustment.

The brass version of the lamp is described in the Repertorio del Design Italiano 1950-2000 by Giuliana Gramigna on Page 105 (1963).

The height of the lamp is 20 cm / 8 inch and the diameter 41.5 cm / 17 inch.
