Case Study Stainless Dining Table
US$1,695.00 Van Keppel-Green designed ‘Series 400’ in 1958 and produced the series until 1970. ‘Series 400’ is prominently displayed in Julius Shulman’s iconic photograph of Pierre Koenig’s Case Study House #22. It is with much irony, that it is one of the most iconic and well-known images of 20th century modern design and that Van Keppel-Green is a name relatively unfamiliar to most.Hendrik Van Keppel and Taylor Green began working together in Los Angeles in 1937. Their work revolutionized industrial design by challenging the roles of indoor/outdoor furniture. This unprecedented blend of indoor/outdoor aesthetics laid the foundations of what would later become a uniquely California style. Although contemporaries of Florence Knoll, Harry Bertoia, and George Nelson, little recognition is given to Van Keppel-Green for their contributions to the history of California and modern industrial design.Modernica revitalized Van Keppel-Green’s previously unavailable ‘Series 400’ design and began production in 1999. With a commitment to authenticity, Modernica produces the series to the exact original design specifications. Modernica has however updated the materials used in construction to increase durability and longevity. This simple and subtle design creates an architectural form that lends itself to any outdoor design motif, making it any easy fit for any environment.Modernica's Case Study series is built with marine-grade stainless steel; highly-durable, salt-water tested, suitable for all extreme elements, and with proper care is virtually rust-proof. Stainless steel is the superior choice of materials when selecting and purchasing outdoor furniture—a solid investment that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment that will never wear out.For added protection from the elements, Modernica offers form-fitting Aqualon covers. Aqualon is a vinyl-coated polyester marine-grade canvas that is water-proof, mildew-proof and is guaranteed not to fade, crack or peel.
