The 1949 Packard Deluxe Eight Club Sedan featured here is finished in stunning gold over a completely original tan striped broadcloth interior. This particular Club Sedan has spent the majority of its life in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States and was just released from its second owner who purchased the car in 1972. A meticulously maintained example, this 1949 Packard features completely original trim and the interior has factory seat upholstery preserved under a set of seat covers that are likely dealer ordered accessories! While this Packard has been repainted in a gold shade similar to that used on the 1949 golden anniversary models, the original chrome and interior displays a level of patina that one would expect to see on a 70 year old motorcar. This Packard is accompanied by its original owner's manual, original policy envelope and both original build sheets (one of which was removed from the underside of the car next to the gas tank). After 70 years the exposed build sheet is still perfectly legible and proves that has always been a well-cared for example. **History of 1949 Packards**
For 1949 Packard marked its Golden Anniversary and started celebrating in grand fashion with 2,000 gold painted Packards. Packard would upgrade the trim for their 50th year with the front bumpers showcasing full chrome, versus the painted centers from the previous year in addition to center-placed side trim on certain models. These modest changes along with an incredible line-up of models resonated with the American public who helped to make 1949 the second largest production year in the company's history.
