Hoping to capitalise on the 300SL's iconic status and numerous competition successes, Mercedes-Benz introduced its smaller stable mate in 1955. The attractive 190SL roadster looked very similar to the 300SL, but thanks to more modest underpinnings it cost a great deal less. Based on the 180 saloon the 190SL sported all round coil spring suspension and power assisted drum brakes. Power came from a 1,897cc version of the 180 saloon's four cylinder engine which, via twin Solex carburettors, produced 120bhp at 5,700rpm and 101lb/ft at 3,800rpm.

This stunning LHD 190SL has an interesting history. Prepared for road tours, the car has participated in the Tour Auto, and is ideally suited for similar events whilst still being entirely useable as an everyday car. Fitted with 40 DCOE Weber carburettors, radial tyres, full harness seatbelt and a fire extinguisher, and complete with a FIVA Passport. Having been kept in a German collection of prestigious sports cars for over 20 years, the car has always been properly maintained with no expense spared, as evidenced by the detailed history file and the remarkable condition of the underside.

Beautifully presented in (DB 166) light blue with dark blue leather interior and canvas hood. Recently imported into the UK, fully serviced and ready to enjoy.
