1975 mercedes-benz 450sl convertible

US$39,500.00

Mercedes-Benz had built a powerful following for its SL series of two seat convertibles which led them to redesign it in 1963 with the 230SL, a timeless design that set a Mercedes-Benz model theme that would continue into the 1990s. In 1971, Mercedes introduced the 107 chassis, a highly successful design that saw over 300,000 examples built over almost two decades. From 1973 until 1980 models sold in the United States were known as the 450 SL/SLC and were equipped with a durable fuel-injected 4520 cc V-8 that made 222 horsepower and 278 ft-lb torque.

Fast, comfortable and good-looking, this 450SL was purchased new on July 28, 1975 in Wooster, Ohio and since that date has since done just 15,619 careful miles. It is finished in dark blue with a dark blue leather interior, comes with both tops and has an automatic transmission, its original alloy wheels, newer tires, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and comes with its original tools. It also has its full set of original manuals and original metal warranty plate. Lightly used but never neglected, this SL looks and drives like it is two years old rather than forty. For those who appreciate both factory originality and the combination of durability, performance and style offered by a 107-chassis Mercedes-Benz SL, this example is a fantastic choice.
