US$16,595.00

Up for sale in our Tampa Showroom is this raw, bad to the bone 1988 Ford Mustang Notchback. Very popular in the drag racing world, and by far one of the most popular models racing in the NMRA today, this 1988 Ford Mustang is anything but your standard Mustang. Built with a very well documented 351 Windsor block, this engine has quite the number of bolt ons and add ons to sift through, just to start, tis engine has been stroked to a 393 cubic inch with 12.5:1 compression ratio. The crankshaft is an Eagle forged setup with Eagle forged H-Beam rods and Keith Black pistons. The camshaft is from Comp Cams and is 672 lift, 264/269 duration and a .050 custom grind solid roller setup. The heads are Canfield Aluminum heads that have been CNC ported and built with Comp Cams roller rockers, Crane Cams rocker girdle, Eagle main bearing girdle, and everything was put back together with ARP studs for maximum reliability. The intake setup consists of an Edelbrock Super Victor manifold, with a Proform 850HP Carb, powered by a Holley Blue fuel pump to maintain fuel pressure at all times. Keeping the engine cool is an Aerospace electric water pump with Be Cool aluminum radiator and an electric fan setup. The exhaust system consists of Hooker super comp headers and Magnaflow 3" x-pipes with Mufflers. The transmission is a JW C4 automatic transmission, with manual reverse valve body and an Ultimate Converter Concepts custom built stall converter. The rear end needs to be bulletproof to handle everything that is being thrown at it, and it is. Start with a Ford 8.8" and add 4.10:1 gears, combine a Spool differential with Moser axles, C Clip Eliminators and add in a girdle for safety, and you have a recipe for getting the power to the street everytime. The suspension has been heavily modified as well to accomodate the car, including Strange adjustable rear shocks, SSM lower control arms, Traction-x adjustable upper control arms, AJE tubular K-member, Coil-over front shocks and of course for stability, a 6-point roll cage was added in. The wheels have also been changed to Weld draglite wheels and wrapped in some brand new M/T drag radials for improved performance. As you can see, this car has been built correctly for the drag strip, but the best part is, this car is perfectly streetable as well so you can show off to your friends on the street without having to go to the strip!
