Just arrived - 1960 Aston Martin DB4 Series II

This rare Aston Martin is one of just 351 Series II cars produced and presents beautifully in its original Aston Martin Jet Black with Beige leather interior.

It was constructed in early 1960 and dispatched in RHD to its first owner, a Mr Wilson G McConnell of 80 Sunnyside Avenue, Montreal by distributor Budd & Dyer on 11th April 1960\. The DB4 was supplied new with a number of factory options including chrome wire wheels, heated rear window, 319 Motorola radio, a set of fitted suitcases and 3.54:1 Powr Lok differential.

Typed records on the build sheet held on the history file identify that Aston Martin's service engineers from the UK visited the DB4 on at least two separate occasions in Canada to carry out road tests and service works in conjunction with the local distributor. The vehicle remained in Canada, until being shipped to England on 27th February 1989 when it was first registered in the UK by the new owner Mr W Benson of Radway, Warwick. Two years later Mr J Colbeck of South West England acquired the Aston and commissioned noted specialists Desmond J Smail Ltd to carry out a four month mechanical restoration and partial bodywork overhaul. Following completion of the work Mr Colbeck passionately maintained the vehicle for the following 20 years, as testified by the numerous invoices and receipts contained within the car's history file. Carefully maintained as it was, the Aston was also well used during this period and successfully competed in several regularity rallies for the Aston Martin Owners Club. After two decades of ownership the Aston passed to its next custodian in September 2011 where it received further restoration by another specialist before passing to its most recent owner who commissioned RS Williams to undertake additional mechanical work including completely re-building and uprating the original engine to 4.7 Litres. With some minor detailing recently completed by JD Classics, the Aston Martin now presents in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition and pleasingly all the numbers match the factory build sheet. It comes accompanied with an excellent history file and offers a superb opportunity to acquire a properly restored and upgraded DB4 with rock solid provenance. Please contact us for further details.
