JAGUAR XK120 ROADSTER RHD

Price On Request

This original RHD XK120 roadster was sold new through Nigerian based distributors Lewis & Peat, although as a home delivery private export car it was collected directly from the works by its first owner a Mr Taylor and, according to research by noted historians John Elmgreen and Terry McGrath, was initially registered NDU662\. It then seems to have spent the first few years of its life abroad, possibly moving to Italy at some point when it was apparently owned by a US airman. The Jaguar returned to the UK in the late 1950s when it was acquired by the well-known Chairman of the BARC (British Automobile Racing Club), Michael Groves, who owned it for many years and often took it to spectate at BARC events. During his ownership the XK was re-registered 312JGW and received extensive restoration in the mid-1990s, which included a bare-metal repaint. Bills and photographs of this work are included within the large history file that accompanies the car. Later, 312JGW was entered into The Hurlingham Club Concours d'Elegance under the ownership of Tarek Mahoud and, in 2012, it was re-acquired by the family of Michael Groves before moving to JD Classics in 2017.
