This beautiful Rover P4 comes from 1961, type 100.This model has the 6 cylinder 2.6 litre head/side valve engine which is known for the quiet and low idle run. The combination of a single "SU" carburettor, "SU" electric fuel pump and Lucas distributor was applied by many other brands and models and proved to be a reliable combination. A well-tuned 6 cylinder engine is known for its fast start. This car is perfect; by turning the ignition key the engine starts right away.The interior is luxurious, with real leather, wooden dashboard and door panels, chrome edges around the counters, also the standing, curved "Shepherds Crook" handbrake is typical and practical at the same time. The chrome, curved shifter controls a 4-speed transmission with an overdrive that makes it possible to drive at a "modern", higher cruising speed with a much lower rotational speed, all of this by the simple operation of a small lever on the steering column. This is a right-hand driven car (RHD).The smell of the interior is reminiscent of the 1960s; this typical smell belongs with such a car.On the outside, the beautiful chrome really stands out; recently re-chromed by a professional.The black paintwork is of a very nice quality; not overly polished in any place and no “craquelure”. One of the rear screens has a small rust blister at the height of a trim clip. This P4 100 has been in the possession of a Dutch automobile and motorcycle collector for years and as such is very well taken care of, however it was rarely used. The car underwent a maintenance service in 2002: the braking system and carburetion were overhauled and the wheel bearings replaced. The car is originally equipped with front disc brakes combined with a brake booster which is also modified.The car has new Vredestein classic car tyres in the size 185/15. Also, the car has been skillfully and complexly conserved by a Dinitrol station.This P4 will be delivered with a fresh Dutch periodic vehicle inspection, however from 1 May 2018 onward it will be exempt from periodic inspection!The Rover is ready to use and is one of the most original and well riding P4 models we have driven and evaluated.
