This Triumph Herald 13/60 was delivered new in the Netherlands on 28 May 1971. The car belonged to an old man who wanted to start the restoration, but only managed to order some NOS parts, sanding the front left guard, the left door and the left side of the bonnet. It has been in dry storage since, it stayed there until late last year.The car had been stored for decades, the registration had been suspended but still valid. The patina is completely intact after all those years, the car hasn’t been washed, polished or anything else. It’s come straight out of battle!This car includes new window rubbers, a NOS mirror, new strips for the side sills and a complete set of carpets with sound insulation. A number of workshop manuals of various types of Austins, Triumphs and other English brands from the 50s and 60s are included.The engine is loose and has good compression, the gearbox shifts well and the car rolls fantastic.The radio works, the lights, horn and wipers also work.Also note the vintage Philips radio with very long antenna and ball speakers. The radio’s instruction booklet is still in the glove compartment.The car is actually rock hard and there is no need or hardly any need to weld. The interior is still fine. Hard to find in this condition. They are almost always rusted through. Not this one, it’s solid throughout.The fuel tank is included separately, this is the optional tank with greater capacity, it is not fitted.The spare parts which are included are all photographed.Various additional doors included, such as the original door which belongs to the car, complete with window.Original tool set in the boot, complete with jack, crank, warning triangle and spare wheel.Extra engine block with a gearbox. The car will need to be restored technically, it will need a new periodic vehicle inspection and then it will be roadworthy.You can opt to leave it as it is, there are few of them left, a fine investment particularly with interest rates at 0.05% (in the Netherlands).It can also be cherished as a barn find or used in a garage shop window as an eye-catcher.The car is complete as far as I can see. The ignition key was missing, a NOS ignition lock was purchased last week, it is fitted and functional.Exempt from Dutch road tax, a real enthusiast’s car.
