This TVR Cerbera was first sold new in London, England in 1998. It had two owners in the UK before the previous owner, a TVR enthusiast, brought it to Australia in the mid-2000s. The vehicle today presents in excellent original condition having only travelled 45,254 miles from new. It retains its original service/log books, receipts for regular services, details of previous ownership and import paperwork.

TVR first released the Cerbera in 1996 and was named after Cerberus, the Greek beast that guarded the entrance to Hades. The model would become the first TVR to only be available as a hard top with a 2+2 seating layout and was also their first attempt at an all in-house designed and built engine, as previous engines were bought from Rover, Ford and Triumph.

Whilst all previous TVRs were circuit inspired with their design, the new engine for the Cerbera was designed to race specifications with much of the bottom end internals used by the current Formula One engines. This track focused vehicle was even described by owner Peter Wheeler as having too much power for road use.

The engine is quite remarkable in design in that it owes more to the current trend in racing engines than to anything that has ever been seen before in a road car, using a 4.5L V8 which produced 420bhp and a top speed of 298km/h.
