Complete body-off restored Beetle 1303 ConvertibleOriginal Karmann convertible, chassis number starts with 1572...Year of construction: 1977 From a barn find to a completely restored car. This originally ochre-yellow Beetle was sold in Germany in 1977 and was driven there until 1998. Insurance papers can be supplied as evidence. The car then ended up in storage and forgotten. We saved this car from a shed in the summer of 2017. This Beetle was completely body-off restored last winter and rebuilt with as many original parts as possible. See also the pictures of the restoration process included with this auction. A description of the work done: 1: New bottom plates, then professionally blasted and black powder-coated for years op optimal protection. 2: All the brake lines were replaced for new ones. All brakes have been checked, and, where necessary, new parts have been fitted. 2: The body was fully restored by an expert and was then spray-painted in the original Volkswagen L041 black paint (original colour yellow). The paint was nicely done, but not perfect. There is minor a small dimple in the boot and the driver’s door had a minor chip (1 mm2) during the adjustment. This is however not noticeable from the outside unless pointed out. 3: 3: All rubbers between the chassis, body, doors, soft top and loose screen parts were replaced for new ones during the reconstruction. 4: New footboards were mounted. 5: The bumpers were replaced by very neat replacement bumpers. 6: The rims were blasted and powder-coated in the original grey colour. A spare tyre is included. 7: The frame of the convertible roof was sanded, painted and then fitted with new headlining, new insulation package and a new Sonnenland soft top. An exclusive combination on the black paint. 8: A specialist craftsman replaced the whole interior: new floor insulation, completely new flooring, the door cards are in a matching colour (matching the seats and the roof), made by hand. The seats have new padding and fitted with artificial leather upholstery with black piping. Everything matches the colour of the convertible roof. A very chic look. 9: All electrics have been checked. 10: New headlights and new taillights and reflectors installed, incl. new sockets, front and rear. 11: The engine is a AD 1600cc engine, fully restored. The engine starts at the first attempt and drives wonderful! Everything about this car has been restored to a high quality. The car features an original German "Fahrzeugbrief" (German registration). This beetle is in very neat condition and ready for a next life. Have fun bidding!
