Not far from the Bordeaux area, neighbour of two charming villages but totally out of view due to a 3, 5 kms stone wall dominated by huge trees. The only exception is a 50 meters long iron gate, allowing a blink to the property. The Domain is 153ha wide, more than 60 of floral park and more than 90 in forests. Achieved in 1864, it has been constantly maintained and embellished. He is known as “Remarquable” The Chateau is 3.800 m² large, plus some 1.600 m² large stables and some more dependence. Today, after 13 years of restoration by the best Companion workers, exteriors as interiors of the mansion and stables are fully re-dressed. each roof is restored in genuine Scottish slate, panelling in rare species, ceiling, marble and tapestries of the grand famous of the 19th perfectly in shape. The luxurious furniture is illuminated gorgeously, all the outside now by LED technology. The monumental entrance stairway leading to the first floor is, on its own a piece of pure Art. As a curiosity, in the heart of the close forest, appears a fully restored wash house in genuine style, constantly fed by its own spring crystal fresh. You may also appreciate the warden’s house, placed in the entrance of the domain, deliciously rebuilt in the rustic way. The park remains a pure jewel of the domain’s crown. Its only reason to be was to enchant its noble guests from all Europe, the king of Spain between others, and force their respect. That’s why the best creators of the century were required to achieve a Masterpiece. The woof of construction has been extremely precise, what your eye can’t believe at first sight. All has been drawn around a major central space: The hill and the ornamental lakes. All other spaces rely in a harmony specifically obeying to the rules of the 19th. No less than three lakes, made by the genius of the so called “geoplasty”, to domesticate soil. Using a soft uneven of thirty meters has been created laying out to give more effect for the large grass land. The esplanade has been elevated so the Castle seems built in the air and the Water Mirror in downstream seems suspended as a mountain lake. That water mirror and the lake, coupled by a canal, seem to be so natural, but are not at all! All proceed of the most sophisticated –and ecological- use running down, ditches and drains. Each water spot has stone faced benches with little quarry stones, fitted so they allow the flow. In the ground is built a terracotta bed, to guarantee the water-tightness of each water site. Coming from the Water Mirror, the canal feeding the other lake is composed with five reservoirs, their overflows creating five waterfalls on a smooth three meters uneven. The third and last lake, the most peaceful and dedicated to reverie, is equipped with a brand new overflow from 2012. The forest, as an invitation to romantic promenade, offers more than 20 kms on large and curved alleys, protecting their intimate with great trees from about forty precious species. Their choice allows the woods, as the flowered park, to seem in a perpetual blossom, due to constantly changing palette of the rare varieties. THE WHOLE DOMAIN must be considered, and is, as an exceptional “chef d’oeuvre”. Moreover, what we could have added but are going to keep for amateurs later, he has a brilliant and special history, crossing centuries and famous figures of whole world.
