The Most Anticipated Yacht Shows in 2018

The spring yacht show season has been better than ever this year, with Barcelona’s brand new The Superyacht Show by LYBRA (Large Yacht Brokers Association) joining with its hugely successful inaugural event in May.

MYBA’s recent move from Genoa to Barcelona for its iconic charter yacht show has further confirmed Barcelona’s role as a new yachting hub, while the Palma Superyacht Show continues to go from strength to strength in promoting the sale and charter of both sailing and motor yachts.

Further afield, the Dubai International Boat Show continued to impress with its stunning selection of superyachts under the skyscrapers in March, as did the Qatar International Boat Show in Doha, which is rapidly becoming one of the great yachting centres of the Middle East.

Further south, the latest edition of the Singapore Yacht Show consolidated the nation’s status as the luxury yachting capital of South East Asia in April, while in May, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in Australia’s Gold Coast is really putting the superyacht scene ‘Down Under’ on the map.

With those sensational yacht shows behind us now as the summer yachting season gets fully underway, it’s time to look forward to the most anticipated yacht shows still to come in 2018.

Cannes Yachting Festival, September 11-16

Kicking off the Mediterranean autumn yacht show season in style, the Cannes Yachting Festival is the largest in-water yacht show in Europe, with over 600 vessels on display and over 500 marine and luxury lifestyle exhibitors. This Cannes boat show is particularly well known for yacht debuts, with over 100 yachts unveiled at the 2017 event.

Monaco Yacht Show, September 26-29

The most glamorous yachting event on the planet, the Monaco Yacht Show welcomes 125 spectacular superyachts to Port Hercules, as well as 580 leading exhibitors. MYS is an opportunity to view the latest yacht debuts, the newest toys and tenders and a range of supercars and helicopters, while enjoying the refined setting and glittering social scene of Monte Carlo.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, October 31-Nov 4

The largest in-water boat show on earth, Fort Lauderdale Boat Show draws over 1300 boats worth more than three billion dollars to Florida’s sunny shores. Featuring vessels of all sizes from submarines to superyachts as well as exhibits from over 1000 yachting and lifestyle companies, the show is spread over seven Fort Lauderdale venues and is one of the great yachting spectacles of the world.

Fort Lauderdale is the last major show of 2018 before the winter yachting season begins in earnest, but with the Miami Yacht Show just around the corner in February 2019 and the Palm Beach Boat Show in March, there’s always another yachting event to look forward to!
