This beautiful old brooch is formed of a double gold bar, each ending at one end with a fine pearl, on which rest, an insect whose body is a sapphire in closed setting and a fine baroque pearl. The wings are entirely set with rose cut diamonds and the eyes are two rubies set in a closed setting. The clasp is a pin with safety hook.
