This piece is a circular representation in Marés stone of the Saint María of the Monte Carmelo, known as the Virgin of Carmen or Nuestra Señora del Carmen, patron saint of the sea and protective in Spain.It's a marked high relief depicting the Virgin standing on a rock, with a scapular with the pyramid symbol of Mount Carmel (Israel) proper of this Virgin in the left hand, and the child Jesus on her right arm with the hand extended. The work is 400 years old approximately (1600-1640 AD) and its condition is very good considering its age.It is ideal for exposing on a pedestal or on top of a column. It is also possible to be hung on a wall.
