US$637.52

Schmidt-Felling was born in 1835 in Berlin, Germany. Little is known about his life, except about the artwork that he produced during an illustrious sculpting career that lasted more than 60 years. Most of his work is cast in bronze and most pieces can be classified as being within the realism or the Art Nouveau genres. Later in his career he produced - during the Art Deco era - some chryselephantine sculptures where he used both ivory and bronze, together, in the casting and construction process. This is a very detailed brown patinated bronze sculpture of a half-naked warrior. Made in Germany around 1910.The patina on the image is in a truly perfect condition, no damage.Signed on the foot by Schmidt Felling (see photo 13).The sculpture is 53 cm tall and weighs 9.5 kilos.
