The featured star ruby is set within a diamond bezel supported by tapering diamond set shoulders, completed by a four and one-half millimeter wide band. Bright polish finish with rhodium accents. Trademark is Orianne. Identified with markings of "14K". Containing: One bezel set round cabochon cut natural star ruby approximate weight of 17.09ct., dark, very slightly brownish, strongly purplish red color, (GIA stpR 7/3), cut is good. This stone has a mostly complete six ray star with medium intensity and good movement. Transmitting light very diffusely, opaque. Naturally occurring internal and external characteristics are present. No indications of heating. Graded in the setting. Ruby has a low tolerance to rhodium plating, repolishing the surface, and ultrasonic cleaning.
