This is an exceptional example of the Certina split second chronograph in stainless steel from the 1940's. I rarely see this model or other vintage split seconds come up for sale. This particular watch is in excellent condition with a large case with ornate lugs and a beautiful original dial. It seems like Certina produced this watch as a joint venture with Elgin and Illinois Watch Company as the case is signed by all three manufactures. This is a very scarce model.
