This is a 19th century, antique pair of baronial carver chairs.This stunning pair of Victorian, 17th Century revival armchairs are crafted in a wonderful honey coloured English oak. The low level box stretcher unites the legs with generous stock and pegged joints all adding to the solidity. The turning to the front legs continues up into the supports beneath the down swept arms.The detailed and well carved decoration is a real feature of these chairs; The crest rail in bar form extends beyond the stiles where carved scroll brackets decorate the union. Surmounting the rail is a mirrored scroll detail elevating the proportions in height and presence.
