Admit it, you are sitting in a chill cafe or in your comfy bed, still there is somewhere you want to hop on and sink into.  No matter what colour your collar is, there must be times you just want to take a break and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.  When you think of sunshine and clearwater sky, the first in mind will always be the Maldives.  It is one of the most famous and luxurious places to spend a holiday into.  However Maldives is popularly crowded and some started to wear down.  So checkout the newest Soneva Jani opened in November 2016.  Now you can even own a villa that is described as a paradise in the middle of nowhere.

Soneva, First Luxury Hotel in the Maldives

Soneva is a resort chain founded in  the Maldives since 1995.  The company owns and manages 3 resorts: Soneva Sushi in Maldives Baa Atoll, Soneva Kiri in Thailand Koh Kood and the newest Soneva Jani in Noonu Atoll.  Soneva Fushi is regarded as the first luxury hotel to set the holiday trend in the Maldives.  It is also one of the first resorts to offer foreigners to purchase as residency.  Another interesting fact,  Soneva is the first to offer wine cellar in the nation!

On the other hand, the company established the Soneva Foundation in 2010.  The focuses are to restore forests in northern Thailand and to also improve access to drinking water and sanitation.

Location – In The Middle of Nowhere

Soneva Jani sits in the Noonu Atoll in the Maldives.  The resort is reachable by a scenic 40-minute seaplane flight directly from Malé International Airport.

Like many praising comments, people found paradise in the middle of nowhere.  With a blanket soft beach and lush tropical greenery, the island is one of the lowest density resorts in the world, ensuring privacy and exclusivity for the owners.

Rooms – Luxury From Tip to Toe

Soneva Jani has 24 water villas and one island villa.  Also, the resort is seeking to expand additional island villas in the future.  All water villas has its own private pool, which stretches straight out to the lagoon.  Some villas even have its own slide from the top deck into the lagoon, perfect for the younglings.

Some say the place does not feel real, its more like a dreamland.  The property is not just clear water and the pristine beaches, it keeps the design and detailing at the most true luxury.  Water villas range from 1 to 4 bedrooms with open air bathroom and its own retractable roof so you can stargaze from your bed.  Other luxurious details are complementary, like a private butler, high-end TV and sound system, bicycles for every guest and walk-in mini bar.  AC is also available for whoever needs some help to handle the heat.

 Five Star Services and Facilities

The resort achieves a five star in many ways including the services.  From the arrival, to check in, to departure, everything is taken care of with a private butler, where they call themselves Mr. and Mrs. Friday.

Enjoy the morning by a sunrise breakfast on the sandbank or a refreshing yoga.  Go for any water sports like sailing, windsurfing and kayaking or stay dry with a picnic on your own deserted island.  As
the day winds down, sip champagne (fruit punch, kids!) on a dolphin cruise.  Watch a movie at the outdoor Cinema Paradiso or count stars from The Observatory.

The Cinema Paradiso is the first overwater silent cinema in the Maldives.  Put on Bluetooth headphones and watch with the stars above and peaceful water underneath, leaving te nesting wildlife at peace as well.

Fine Dining – Heavenly Delicious

Soneva Jani has 5 dining restaurants that serve global cuisines. There is no worry on deciding what to eat and you don’t have to sail out to find food. The dining outlets are the favourites among all the residents.  In the middle of the resort is the 3-storey Gathering building, where guests start their day with hand-picked fruits and freshly squeezed juice. During the day, guests can indulge freshly baked pizza from wooden oven, live cooking stations and grill-to-order seafoods. There is also a tasting room, where guest can experience and enjoy tailor-made wine tasting and pairing menus.

Learn from The Observatory and the water 

While indulging the breathtaking resort, learn more about the sky and the water. The Observatory is the first overwater observatory in Maldives. Along the sophisticated telescope sitting from deck to top, be the guest to dine in and gaze upon shooting stars. Also, don’t forget to join the in-house astronomy session and dine with the stars.

Discover more about the incredible diversity underwater with the local Marine biologist.  Snorkel outside the Lagoon to the beautiful surrounding reefs, look for sea life and corals and learn their impact to the nature and ourselves.  Bet your chance to spot a sea turtle or even a native manta ray!
