Glen Garioch is pronounced “glen geery”. Right, now that we’ve got that out the way… Glen Garioch was founded all the way back in 1797 in Oldmeldrum, making it one of the oldest Scotch whisky distilleries around. So of course there’s something about time travel on the label of our Glen Garioch! Ryan Chetiyawardana has gone back to 1977 to check out the greenhouse which Glen Garioch heated using the waste heat from their stills. How’s he done that then?

Tasting notes:

Nose: A balanced nose of spice and sweetness, with mince pie, herbal honey and citrus zests.
Palate: Ginger biscuits, orange peel and barley.
Finish: Mixed fruit and nuts. Dry.
