This bottling of the Avonside Glenlivet was distilled in 1938, a year before the outbreak of the Second World War. Having matured for 33 years in sherrywood oak casks, this Speyside single malt was bottled in 1972 at 43% abv. The nose is clean and fresh with hints of fruit pastilles, orange jelly and polished oak. The palate is clean and crisp with notes of marmalade, tropical fruits and peppery spice, while the finish is long and warming with fruit jelly notes lingering on the tongue.
