1954 XK140 DHC RHD Chassis Number 5This exceptional DHC was the fifth car built in RHD by the factory and, with only two preceding cars known to exist, is one of the oldest survivors. Subject to a full chassis-off bare metal restoration by JD Classics it has only covered 37 miles since the restoration was completed and consequently is presented in immaculate condition.During the restoration process the car was comprehensively upgraded to full JD Sport standard with extensive work undertaken on all areas of the car. Specific upgrades include an improved touring specification engine with C Type cylinder head, twin 2 inch Sandcast SU carburettors, JD Sport upgraded cooling system with electric cooling fan, custom made ceramic coated stainless steel manifold and exhaust system and five speed JD Sport gearbox. The car's handing has been significantly improved with JD Sport adjustable suspension, custom made alloy rimmed colour coded wire wheels with Dunlop racing tyres, disc brakes all round with green colour coded AP Racing callipers and continuous curve ventilated discs and electric variable power steering. Other modifications have greatly increased the practicality of the car and include items such as electronic ignition, alternator conversion and satellite navigation integrated with the period Becker stereo.The car is finished in its attractive original colour combination of British Racing Green paint and Green interior with Burr walnut dashboard and door cappings. Importantly the car retains matching numbers and its original registration and provides a fantastic opportunity to acquire the ultimate restored and upgraded XK140 DHC.
