**Our Stock # LFA-1481**This is an antique chest dating to the late 17th century. - Raised on the extended stiles, this chest is of panelled construction held within robust 40mm thick, oak stock displaying carved detail to the front; the four panels featuring stylised flora in geometric mounts with Celtic overtones. The stiles repeating the theme beneath fluted detailing. - The Dual panelled ends are dressed with the original iron loop handles and the back finished in four plain panels. Desirable hand-cut clasp nails visible in the lid construction. - The original key and lock still work and release the lid which lifts on the original iron strap hinges. Inside offers voluminous storage with a candle box to one end and a tantalisingly indistinct label to the rear.
